Comparative study between intrauterine insemination following preovulatory pertubation versus intrauterine insemination alone in induced ovulation cycles in infertility patients

Background: To compare the efficacy of pertubation with low dose lignocaine before ovulation followed by intrauterine insemination versus alone in induced cycles infertility patients.Methods: Total 60 induction were studied, randomly divided Group A and B 30 each. Ovulation was done clomiphene citrate / gonadotrophins. Post IUI both groups. Additionally, preovulatory diluted balanced salt solution 10-12 hrs after trigger group A. The primary outcome conception (positive urine pregnancy test) patients compared between two secondary outcomes, full term pregnancy, abortion, ectopic procedural pain, infection, haemorrhage, long complications also studied compared.Results: Pregnancy rate found to be slightly more perturbation (20.6% A) as (14.7% B). But difference not statistically significant (p>0.05). spontaneous rates endometriosis is <5%. In intervention it 37.5% cases endometriosis, which encouraging. treatment used this study proved a safe option without complications. Procedure associated mild moderate pain 76% severe 8.8% one patient (2.9%) had syncope. procedure PID noted (2.9%).Conclusions: Preovulatory increased clinical cycles. pronounced endometriosis. It well tolerated.
